ACE Bermuda Insurance Company Ltd., (ACE Bermuda), a subsidiary of ACE Limited (NYSE:ACL) announced today that Frank Lattal has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President, Claims and Claims Counsel. Mr. Lattal succeeds Edward Connolly, who retired as head of ACE Bermuda's Claims Department in June.
In making the announcement, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Bermuda, Gary Schmalzriedt, said that the transition in management of the department has been a smooth one. "Frank joined us in 1999 as Senior Vice President and Claims Counsel with a wealth of experience in insurance law," said Mr. Schmalzriedt. "He has had a chance to work side by side with Ed Connolly prior to his retirement so the transition in management has been almost seamless. We're delighted to now have him at the helm of the Claims Department."
Mr. Lattal will manage ACE Bermuda's entire claims operation as well as all legal functions of the Claims Department, including coverage analysis, litigation and arbitrations. He will also maintain responsibility for claims and litigation arising from Excess Liability, Professional Lines, Property, Aerospace, Reinsurance and ACE Financial Solutions International (formerly Tailored Risk Solutions.)
Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Lattal was a partner in the New Jersey law firm of Connell, Foley & Geiser, LLP where he practiced insurance law for 14 years. He is a graduate of Bucknell University (Bachelor of Science Business Administration in Accounting) and Valparaiso University School of Law, where he served as an Editor of the Law Review.
