The Board of Directors of ACE Limited (NYSE: ACL) today announced that Roberto G. Mendoza was re-elected as a director of the company effective immediately, to fill the position left vacant by the resignation of Jeffrey Greenberg.
Mr. Mendoza is currently vice chairman and a director of J.P. Morgan & Co. Incorporated and a member of the corporate office, the firm's senior policy and planning group. Mr. Mendoza had previously served on the ACE Limited Board from September 1985 to May 1996.
The resignation of Jeffrey Greenberg, recently appointed chief executive officer in addition to serving as president of Marsh & McLennan Companies, from ACE Limited's Board of Directors, was effective October 13, 1999. Mr. Greenberg resigned as a result of his increasing responsibilities at Marsh & McLennan Companies.
